Sept 11 2010 I was in New York. Pamela Geller; extreme right American blogger and political activist, invited Dutch political Geert Wilders for a public speech. Hot topic in this story was the plan on building a mosque and Islamic community center near the former World Trade Centre. Many people showed up to had their voices heard. The mood was grimly and I left before Geert Wilders ever showed up. I could not stand the whole atmosphere.
When I left I met a guy wearing a Che Guevara shirt, he was on the corner of the street right oustide the fences. He handed out papers with facts about Geert Wilders. Shortly after that he was expelled by the police. But I took a paper he handed to me.
A few days later when I was cycling in Soho and guess what; I bumped into the same guy again. He was selling some souvenirs on a table. I won't call this coincidence out of 8 million people. We had an interesting conversation about freedom of expression and all hidden true stories who never appear in the press. Big up for this free press fighter!
